Dementia Reversal Trial.

Recruiting now open

Recruitment is now open for our next precision medicine dementia reversal clinical trial. If you or someone you know are interested, please checkout the website (DementiaReversalTrial.com) to find out more information to see if you or they might qualify.

What to know about the trial

  • Study participants do not have to have a formal dementia diagnosis; we're looking for people with mild cognitive impairment and early dementia, not advanced dementia

  • Looking for participants ages 45 up to and including age 76

  • Participant must live within one hour of a study site; see site locations below

  • Participant must have a study partner (helper), ideally someone who lives with them. Partner needs to be willing and able to help support the patient in the protocol as well as complete questionnaires

  • Participant must have no major uncontrolled medical issues

  • Must be willing to take hormone replacement therapy. Because of this, women with prior breast cancer history are excluded (there is data to show that HRT after breast cancer is resolved might actually reduce recurrence, but we chose to exclude this in the trial because of legal issues). Men with a history of prostate cancer will also be excluded.

  • Must be willing to possibly be randomized to the delayed treatment arm for 9 months. Subjects in the delayed arm will receive standard neurologic treatment, but not precision medicine treatment. However, we will be doing all of the testing necessary for the delayed treatment group, and if they  complete the 9 month trial, they will receive six months of all of the precision medicine treatments at no cost.
